Paul Schwedfeger, DDS, FAGD

 Dr. Paul Schwedfeger has been practicing Dentistry in Rochester, New York since 1980.

With a B.S. degree from SUNY Albany, Dr. Schwedfeger
studied Biomedical Engineering at Catholic University and the National
Institutes of Health in Washington, D.C. before receiving his D.D.S.
from the University Of Maryland School Of Dentistry, the Baltimore
College of Dental Surgery.

After completing his residency at Strong Memorial
Hospital, he became a member of the University of Rochester’s dental
teaching staff for three years. In 1988, Dr. Schwedfeger completed the
rigorous requirements to be awarded a Fellowship in the Academy of
General Dentistry (F.A.G.D.). This prestigious award is held by less than 10% of dentists in the U.S. He is presently pursuing the highest achievement level in the Academy: the Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (M.A.G.D.) which only 3 out 500 dentist in the area have obtained. Dr. Schwedfeger was also a part-time clinical instructor at the Eastman Dental Center, the University of Rochester.

Cosmetic dentistry has always been a special interest
for Dr. Schwedfeger. He has completed numerous courses taught by the
leading cosmetic dentists in the U.S. He  attended the
Rosenthal Institute at New York University College of Dentistry. Dr.
Schwedfeger has been certified in “Advanced Esthetics” by Dr Larry
Rosenthal, the ‘Dentist to the Stars’. Dr Schwed is also New York State
certified in Oral Conscious Sedation. He also  recently begun
additional training in Implant Dentistry at the Midwest Implant
Institute.

Dr. Schwedfeger is active in the American Academy of
Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental
Association, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, International Congress of Oral Implantology, New York
State Dental Society and the Monroe County Dental Society.

Outside of dentistry, his interests include biking, photography and building furniture in his elaborate woodshop. Dr.
Schwedfeger, his wife and three children reside in Rochester, New York
(NY). Their oldest son, Matthew, is finishing his Senior year at the University
of Maryland School of Dentistry. Matt will spend the next academic year completing a General Practice Residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Hopefully soon, Dr Paul will have the
pleasure of practicing general dentistry,cosmetic dentistry, and
sedation dentistry with Matt.

Dr.
Schwedfeger has always been very active in Post Graduate Dental
